An eggceptional romance

A long time ago, and far, far away (well, Perth, but that’s a long way from Canberra), before the egg decorating eggstravaganza was even a twinkle in the eye, two sweet young things fell in love. One thing led to another, as often happens…

“Michael and Annie, sitting in a tree
K – I – double S – I- N – G
First came LOVE, then came marriage
Then came Annie with a baby carriage”

After that came another 4 baby carriages, resulting in 5 kids to keep amused at Easter time. Hence the start of this awesome Easter tradition.

After 40 years of marriage my dad felt that my mother deserved a medal for putting up with him for so long. Instead, what she got was this egg…

Was there a 50th Anniversary egg? I don’t remember one, but there’s certainly a golden egg – perhaps that was for their Golden Anniversary. Hey, Dad – wanna let us know?

I hope he has something awesome planned for the 60th, in 3 years time!
