This is a bittersweet egg-tale.
This egg was decorated by my sister Kathleen, first dipping it in yellow dye then dipping, holding and turning in pink or red dye. It’s a great eggsample of what a beautiful result this simple teggnique can give, with translucent layers of dye overlapping to create new tones.
From side on, it’s a pretty-coloured, simply dipped egg.
But the end has a teeny bonus.
The other end shows why this egg, despite its cracks, will always be treasured.
Kathy painted this egg on her last Easter, before her death from complications of Cystic Fibrosis in February 1987, making this her last egg.
I will miss you always.
